The General Manager of the Takoradi Gas Ltd receives award at May Day celebration

The General Manager of Takoradi Gas Ltd has been awarded by the General Transport, Petroleum, and Chemical Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress for his immense contribution toward the development of Takoradi Gas Ltd.

Mr. Luxman Anora Kaluarachi received the award at the Western Regional May Day celebration held at the Tarkwa Senior High School in Tarkwa.

The award was to recognize his unwavering support for the activities of the union regarding workers’ welfare.

Mr. Luxman Anora Kaluarachi joined Takroadi Gas Ltd as General Manager in 2000 when the company was going through turbulent experiences and hard times but with his stern leadership, he managed to put all hands on deck to turn around the fortunes of the company to its current state.

A citation presented to him by the union stated that “he continues to espouse other opportunities to expand the business to the interest of all workers, the Board of Directors, customers, and Ghana as a whole”.

Speaking to Dynamite News in an interview he expressed his appreciation to the union for the recognition and said the union has helped management to overcome disciplinary issues and economic issues.

Speaking about the way forward for the Takoradi Gas Ltd, Mr. Isuru Udayanga said the company has plans to expand the business outside Ghana to other parts of the world.

He noted that currently the company is in the production of industrial gases, consumables, and accessories and has plans to go into areas of production.

He said “all employers must understand that workers have their rights to belong to any union of their choice and they must be denied so allow workers to join unions in order to enjoy their freedom”

He said the company will continue to invest in the welfare and development of the staff of the company which in the end will ensure maximum production and this he said will inure to the benefit of the company.
