Ghana National Association of Garages launches a Chinese language and EV training school to prepare members for modern automotive technology.

The Ghana National Association of Garages has launched a Chinese language and EV training school to equip garage operators with modern automotive skills.

The initiative lead by the National President of the Association, H.E. Odeneho Nana Oppong Barimah, aims to help members adapt to the rapid changes in Ghana’s automotive industry.

The Association launched the Chinese language and EV training school following a partnership with Chinese investors.

The partners reached an agreement at the Association’s National Headquarters to establish electric-vehicle charging centres across Ghana. It will also support establishing vehicle assembly plants in the country.

Speaking to the media at the opening ceremony, the National Communications Director of the association, Mr. Francis Nomo Tetteh explained the purpose of the Chinese language and EV training school.

Mr Tetteh said the programme will give garage operators knowledge of modern automotive technology, adding that learning Chinese has become important for garage operators.

He explained that many vehicles entering Ghana now come with manuals written in Chinese, and this initiative will help operators read and interpret these manuals. It will also enable them to translate technical information and improve services to customers.

He believes the Chinese language and EV training school will change how garage operators run their businesses because it will help members respond to the growing use of electric vehicles in Ghana.

The Chinese language and EV training school is expected to strengthen the technical capacity of garage operators. It will further prepare them for electric vehicles and other emerging automotive technologies.
