In a strategic move towards leadership succession, MTN Group has announced a significant reshuffle in its executive team. The current CEO of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, a seasoned Ghanaian executive, is set to assume the role of MTN Group Chief Commercial Officer.
This change marks a transition of responsibilities from Jens Schulte-Bockum, who will step down as Group Chief Operating Officer after his contract term in March 2024.

The Board of Directors in a statement, expressed their confidence in Adadevoh, applauding his successful leadership of MTN Ghana over the past five and a half years. Under his guidance, the company underwent a transformative journey, aligning with the new Ambition 2025 strategy to position MTN Ghana as a formidable platform player in the telecommunications industry.

Selorm Adadevoh, who joined MTN in 2018, will now be a key member of the MTN Group Executive Committee. The outgoing Jens Schulte-Bockum will continue to contribute as a non-executive director on the boards of major subsidiaries, including MTN South Africa, MTN Nigeria, and Bayobab.

Reflecting on the announcement, Dr. Ishmael Yamson, MTN Ghana Board Chairman, commended Adadevoh for his dedication and hard work. “We have no doubt that he will excel in his new role as MTN Group Chief Commercial Officer,” stated Dr. Yamson.

Simultaneously, Stephen Blewett, currently the MTN Operations Executive for Markets, will step into Adadevoh’s shoes as the CEO of MTN Ghana. Blewett, who rejoined MTN in July 2023, brings a wealth of experience, having served as the Chief Operating Officer of Digicel and held the role of CEO for MTN Benin and MTN Cameroon during his earlier stint with the company.

The Board welcomed Stephen Blewett to the MTN Ghana family and expressed anticipation of working together to achieve the company’s Ambition 2025 strategy and beyond.
