The Sekondi Business Centre of ASA Savings and Loans Limited, in the Anaji Area has donated a variety of medical and technological equipment to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided.
Among the items gifted are four Jectermac Suction Machines, twelve Suction Tubes, three Fingertip Pulse Oximeters, five packs of disposable hair nets, three packs of pregnancy test kits, four packs of gauze rolls, two aneroid sphygmomanometers, as well as two foldable walking sticks, a four-legged walking stick, and one set of armpit crutches.
During a brief ceremony held in Sekondi, Samuel Odoom, the Anaji Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans, emphasized that the donation reflects the organization’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. He explained that they had consulted with the hospital to identify their specific needs, resulting in the procurement of these essential items. Odoom also highlighted ASA’s alignment with national goals such as the Sustainable Development Goal SDG-4, which focuses on quality education.
Odoom pledged that ASA Savings and Loans would continue supporting the regional hospital and promised additional donations before the year’s end. He encouraged the hospital staff to utilize the equipment effectively for the betterment of patient care.
Julius Torgbor Laryea, the Branch Manager of Sekondi, commended the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital team for their dedication to providing excellent healthcare services. Michael Danso, the Head of Administration at the hospital, expressed gratitude to ASA Savings and Loans for their generous contribution. He emphasized the significance of the donated equipment, particularly highlighting the importance of the suction machines in saving lives by ensuring clear airways for patients.
Mr Danso assured that the hospital would make the best use of the donated items to fulfill its mission of advancing healthcare delivery in the Western Region.
He also appealed to other institutions to follow ASA’s example and support the hospital in its efforts to provide effective healthcare services to the community.
