Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang, popularly known as King Zuba, has been confirmed as the new Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA). His confirmation follows His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s nomination.
Mr. Agyemang secured an overwhelming endorsement, garnering 55 out of the 56 votes by Assembly Members.
In a ceremony officiated by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Mr. Agyemang was officially sworn into office. In his acceptance speech, he pledged his commitment to transforming Kumasi into the cleanest city in the country.

He announced that within his first two weeks in office, there will be a major exercise targeting traders who have encroached on roads within the Kumasi Central Business District. This, he said, is part of efforts to restore order and improve traffic flow in the metropolis.
Mr. Agyemang also outlined his priorities, including addressing poor sanitation and tackling the persistent congestion in the city centre.
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to former President Mahama for the confidence reposed in him and thanked the Assembly Members for their overwhelming support.
