Hon. George Mireku Duker thanks citizen of Tarkwa-Nsuaem as he bows out of Parliament

Hon. George Mireku Duker has expressed his gratitude to the people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem for their trust and support during his tenure as Member of Parliament from 2017 to 2025.

In a statement issued today, he said, “I extend warm greetings to the good people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem, and to the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party. I am deeply grateful for your steadfast support and prayers.”

Reflecting on his leadership journey, Hon. Duker recalled his time as the Municipal Chief Executive in 2008, emphasizing that his role in Parliament was an extraordinary privilege. “You honoured me with an extraordinary privilege of representing you in Ghana’s Parliament from 2017 to 2025,” he said.

He highlighted his key achievements, including the reconstruction of the Agona-Nkwanta-Tarkwa road network, the construction of the TNA Stadium, and the establishment of the Nsuaem Hospital.

Speaking on education, he noted, “The completion of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) administration block and the MIIF Technical Training Centre at UMaT are some of the significant steps taken to transform the constituency.”

Hon. Duker urged his constituents to continue building on the foundation laid during his tenure. “With your unwavering support, we have been able to spearhead transformative initiatives and projects that have laid the foundation for progress,” he remarked.

Issah Salifu Taylor

As Hon Duker bows out of Parliament today, he hands over to the NDC’s Salifu Issah Taylor who defeated Duker with over 8,000 votes to break the Parliamentary drought of the NDC since 1922.
