Parents of BECE graduates in the Brahabebom Electoral Area in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Munincipality are set to save money on essential SHS items after Assembly Member Hon. Muntari Mohammed donated mattresses, trunks and pillows to support their wards’ transition to Senior High School.
Parents and guardians in the Brahabebom Electoral Area are expected to receive significant financial relief as their wards prepare to begin Senior High School, following a donation of essential items by the Assembly Member, Hon. Muntari Mohammed.
The Assembly Member donated 200 plastic boxes, 200 mattresses and 2,000 pillows to BECE graduates in the electoral area.
The items, estimated to be worth GH¢250,000, are intended to reduce the financial pressure on parents who often have to spend considerable amounts of money purchasing mattresses, trunks and other essential items required by students entering boarding Senior High Schools.
Easing the cost of SHS preparation
The transition from Junior High School to Senior High School can place a considerable financial burden on families, particularly those whose children gain admission to boarding schools.
Hon. Muntari Mohammed said his intervention is aimed at helping parents meet some of these immediate requirements while supporting the educational aspirations of young people in the electoral area.
He said the initiative forms part of his commitment to promoting education and ensuring that financial challenges do not become a major obstacle for families preparing their children for Senior High School.
Advice to beneficiaries
The Assembly Member urged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously and remain focused on their studies as they begin a new chapter of their academic journey.
He also appealed to parents and guardians to take a keen interest in their wards’ education and daily activities, stressing the importance of parental guidance and support in helping young people succeed.
The beneficiaries and their families expressed appreciation to Hon. Muntari Mohammed for the intervention.
They said the donation comes at an important time and would help reduce the financial burden associated with preparing their children for Senior High School.
The donation is expected to provide immediate support to the beneficiaries as they prepare to report to their respective schools.
