Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Ghana, is set to deliver a keynote address at the prestigious University of Memphis. The former Minister of Education will speak on the topic “Implementing a National Policy for Educational Access and Equity,” highlighting his role in implementing the widely acclaimed Free Senior High School (SHS) Programme.
In a press release signed by his spokesperson; Fiifi Boafo Dr Opoku Prempeh’s speech will focus on educational access and equity in Ghana, using the Free SHS initiative as a case study. Dr. Prempeh will explore the challenges of implementing national policies aimed at reducing the educational divide. The event at the University of Memphis strengthens international educational cooperation and reinforces ties between Ghana and its diaspora.
During his visit to the United States, Dr. Prempeh will engage with members of the Ghanaian community in Memphis, emphasizing the importance of fostering cultural and educational exchanges. In addition, he will be hosted by the Mayor of Memphis, further promoting the development of bilateral relationships between Ghana and Memphis.
Dr. Prempeh’s visit comes at a crucial time, as he is actively campaigning for the upcoming general elections in Ghana, where education has been a key focus of his political platform.
Dr Prempeh will depart from Accra on 17th October and return on 20th October to continue
his campaign for the upcoming elections
