Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas) has extended its support to communities in the Volta Region that have been adversely affected by the recent water spillage from the Akosombo and Kpong Dams.
In an effort to alleviate the challenges faced by these impacted communities, Board Members of Ghana Gas, Madam Delphine Dogbegah and Mr. Stephen Sumani Nayina, formally presented a collection of relief items to the Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Mr. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, for onward distribution to the affected communities.
The items distributed encompassed mattresses, assorted food supplies, and essential toiletries.
Madam Delphine Dogbegah emphasized that the decision to provide assistance to the people of the Volta Region was driven by a comprehensive assessment of the critical needs in the areas that suffered from the spillage.
The communities benefiting from this support include Battor and Mepe in North Tongu, Sogakope in South Tongu, Agbozume and Denu in Ketu South, and Adidome in Central Tongu.
Mr. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, the Director-General of NADMO, assured that the relief items would be fairly distributed among community members who have been affected by this unfortunate incident.
