After months of navigating pothole-ridden roads and enduring daily frustrations, commuters and residents along the Agric-Nkroful Junction stretch can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
A road grader was spotted on-site on Sunday, April 13, 2025, signaling the beginning of long-awaited repair works.
The deteriorating condition of the road had forced many drivers to divert through the BU-Ketan Junction route, leading to increased travel time, higher fuel costs, and frequent vehicle breakdowns.
The situation also posed serious safety concerns, contributing to several road accidents.
Local traders operating along the stretch have not been spared either. The heavy dust generated by passing vehicles severely affected their businesses, with many forced to shut down due to the health risks and loss of patronage.
Despite numerous appeals from residents and media outlets, there had been no visible action until now.
The recent intervention is believed to be the handiwork of the newly appointed Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson. Though only a few months into office, his prompt response to public concerns has earned him commendation from residents and stakeholders.
“We are genuinely grateful to Mr. Regional Minister for listening to our cries,” a commuter stated.
“But we also hope that the repair works will be comprehensive and completed before the rainy season sets in.”
As work begins on the Agric-Nkroful Junction road, many are hopeful that similar attention will be given to other neglected internal roads within the region.
