The 2022- 2023 National Service personnel at Aboso Goldfields Limited have presented learning materials to Bompieso MA Basic School in the prestea Huni Valley Municipality.
The donation, forms part of the personnel’s activities to give back to the society in which the mine operates.
Some of the items donated include books, set of uniforms, pencils, makers, and many more at a cost of thirteen thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 13,000.00).
Making the presentation president of the 2022 – 2023 service personnel at Aboso Goldfield Limited Isaac Yankey explained that, they found it necessary to make this donation to help improve teaching and learning in the school.
“We were once like these kids where we saw people coming to our schools to donate learning materials, so we saw the need to do same. This inspired us to do what we did today”, he said.
The operations manager at Aboso Goldfields Mr Samuel Hadjor thanked the service personnel for making such a gesture to the society.
He noted that, this gesture is something that should ginger the youth of the community to study hard so that in years to come they would also be at a level where they can also give back to society.
The Education Director for Prestea Huni Valley Mr Sabastain Diaw commended the service personnel for using part of their allowances for this worthy course.
He advised the students and the staff of the Bompieso MA school to take very good care of the learning materials.
