The Western Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery and extortion incident at Wangarakrom, near Tarkwa in the Western Region.
The suspects, identified as Kwame Mumuni and Awal Benjamin, were apprehended on March 31, 2025.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police Service, officers retrieved several exhibits from the suspects, including a red unregistered Suzuki motorbike, military camouflage tops, three pairs of boots, a torchlight, a black face mask, and an amount of GHC 645.00 in cash.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will be arraigned before the court to face justice.
Law enforcement authorities have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety and security in the region, urging residents to report any suspicious activities.
This arrest follows a series of heightened security operations aimed at combating crime in Tarkwa and its surrounding communities.
